Books for Boys–Dinosaurumpus

October 6, 2010

We LOVE books around here. The shelves are full of them. I try to keep them “twaddle-free,” but I’m not a stickler about it. When I find good ones I like to share them with friends.

Dinosaurumpus by Tony Mitton is a huge hit with the toddler. The sing-songy rhyme and friendly looking dinosaurs dancing on the pages leads to many “again, agains” at bedtime.

Dinosaurumpus by Tony Milton Dinosaurumpus!

What I like is that it is actually quite fun to read–at least once you figure out how you are going to pronounce some of the dinosaur names (Thanks to Dinosaur Train on PBS for pteranadon!) My little one likes to yell out “DINOSAURUMPUS!” near the end of the book when that page is turned. And isn’t that what it’s all about–fun and engagement at this age.

If you are looking for a book to keep your 2 year old boy in your lap through the whole thing, try it out!
