Books for Boys: Press Here by Herve Tullet

September 14, 2011

Such a simple idea and such a wonderful book!
Press Here is a truly “hands-on” book in the best sense of the word.

The books begins with a simple yellow circle and instructions to press on it. As if by magic, another dot appears on the next page. It continues with simple instructions of what to do with the book–press yellow dots, shake it, tilt it, etc–with a variety of visual surprises.

I read this with my six-and three-year olds, and they both loved it. At times they were running around the room shaking the book as hard as they could. At the end they both wanted to start over and see what magic would unfold next.

I definitely want to check out some of Tullet’s other books:

The Coloring Book

The Book with a Hole

Do you have a fun “hands-on” favorite book?
