Books for Boys–Iggy Peck, Architect

September 20, 2011

I discovered this little book last week when Design Mom interviewed author Andrea Beaty.

Iggy Peck, Architect is another great book for child with a dream. Like Cromwell Dixon’s Sky Cycle, Iggy too has a passion. He loves building things and thinking about architecture.

His parents are very supportive of his dreams (for the most part!)

However his second grade teacher is less than pleased (for her own reasons).

I really enjoyed the drawings and style in this story. Beaty’s rhyming story is clever, a little edgy and full of heart. Two thumbs way up!

By the way, the author has a teacher’s guide at her website with some neat ideas if you want to do more with it.
